Spring Biking in Jackson Hole

Spring Biking in Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole Mountain Bike Tours

With warm temperatures and minimal amounts of precipitation  spring biking season is in full swing.

We know the biking season has officially begun when skiers on top of Teton Pass have their bikes on the back of their cars.  Whether its  road biking, riding to work or school, or a fun family ride,  everyone is out on their bike. Even if you haven’t put away your skis, it is time to get out your bike!

We here at Teton Mountain Bike Tours are experiencing our busiest spring ever. Guided tours, bike rentals, and people stopping in just to chat about biking – we are busy! We are also riding – a lot!  Whether it is a long road bike ride , taking a fat bike for a fun ride on a dirt road, or even riding some single track (yea!) we are riding everyday.

Some great early season rides

Grand Teton National Park  – Inner park road is closed to car traffic until May 1st. An incredible ride through the heart of the Tetons. Scenery, wildlife, and no cars make this a biking dream . Start your ride at Taggart Lake for a short or long  out and back ride.

Yellowstone National Park -The road from Flagg Ranch to Grant Village is open for biking but no car traffic until May 8th. You can ride your bike in Yellowstone on the road with no car traffic- what more can you say!? another biking dream.

Wilson, WY  Fall Creek road and Fish Creek road – (a personal favorite) Such a great road ride and such a great work out! Park in Wilson and ride out and back on Fall Creek (28 miles) add Fish Creek (6 miles) . Want to keep going? Add the bike path. A great 1.5-3 hour ride.

“Hunger Man” (TMBT owner David Hunger)  his ride of the week or the day – The Hunger Man is out everyday so he always knows where the riding is good. Recently, he has been riding a cross bike combining pavement and dirt for awesome rides.

Horseshoe Canyon –  Believe it or not, local single track in April!  I rode single track all weekend over in Horseshoe Canyon (Idaho.) Choo choo and Southbound are super dry and super fun. North facing trails in the shade are not dry or ready to ride.

Come check out our bike rentals

Whether you are visiting or local we have everything you need for a great spring ride. Whatever your bike preference, we have it. Road, hard tail, comfort, 29er full suspension and fat bikes. An exciting new addition to our fleet is the new Felt road bike with a flat handlebar. People love this bike! It has the performance of a road bike with a flat handlebar to provide a more upright and supported ride. We also carry kids bikes, burly trailers, trail a bikes, and rent bike racks so you can transport your bikes. A helmet is included in your bike rental at no additional charge. We also carry tubes, water bottles, maps, and lots of other extras to complete your ride.
